Gil Jang
Gil is a american-korean architecture student at carnegie mellon university. gil writes for an architectural journal: interpunct. in fall of 2018 he studied under dana cupkova of epiphyte lab, focusing on 'eco-morphology'. during that time he also explored architectural robotics. in spring 2019 he designed an environmental charter school. he wrote a book about his life goals. he placed 1st in 'epic metals' eco-lab design competition. in summer of 2018 he worked as a designer and carpenter for a custom fabrication studio. in winter of 2018 he taught a science camp on robotics. in spring of 2018 he studied under jeremy ficca. he created an urban office building. he also designed a bath house. during that time gil revisited his roots in photography. in fall of 2017 he studied under josh bard, where he learned generative modeling and computational design. he then designed an urban agriculture center in homestead. in summer of 2017 gil traveled to university of the arts london | central saint martins to learn fashion communication. he then worked with architects for social housing to problem solve london's housing crisis. in spring of 2017 gil studied under kai gutschow, he created an architectural parasite for hunt library and an abstracted sculpture. in fall of 2016 he learned his fundamentals from gerard damiani. gil loves to hike, sketch, and build.
